According to people familiar with the matter, Intel is in early discussions with AMD to explore the possibility of including AMD in its foundry customers. It is not clear how much of AMD's production will be transferred to Intel if the two sides reach an agreement, nor is it clear whether the move will be accompanied by direct investment from AMD, and there is a possibility that the negotiations will ultimately fail.
