Bitwise CIO: Tether is expected to surpass Saudi Aramco as the world's most profitable company

According to a recent client memo from Matt Hougan, chief investment officer at Bitwise, Tether could overtake Saudi Aramco as the most profitable company in history. Tether already has more than 400 million users, adds 35 million wallets every quarter, and holds more than $127 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds. If the asset size reaches $3 trillion, its profit will exceed Saudi Aramco's $120 billion income in 2024. Tether is actively expanding into AI, telecommunications, data centers, and other fields, and launched a new stablecoin USAT for U.S. users. In 2024, Tether generated about $13 billion in profits with a team of less than 200 people, and currently holds $11.4 billion worth of bitcoin.
