JPMorgan said the Bank of Japan's September meeting notes show that the policy committee will gradually turn hawkish. A growing number of people are expressing confidence that economic growth is "relatively stable," inflation is likely to remain near target, and that policy normalization should continue. Several BOJ members said they want to see the results of the Tankan survey, scheduled for Wednesday, to confirm that it is time to "return to the monetary policy stance of raising the policy rate" and set it "closer to the neutral rate."
