Algorand Foundation Appoints Former Ripple Engineer Nikolaos Bougalis as Chief Technology Officer

The Algorand Foundation has appointed Nikolaos Bougalis, a former head of engineering at Ripple and a veteran cryptography expert, as CTO, responsible for advancing the 2025 technology roadmap, focusing on decentralization, scalability and security, and driving enterprise-level adoption. He will collaborate with Algorand Technologies to focus on privacy, quantum resistance and performance optimization; its US-based role aims to expand corporate-institutional collaboration for compliance infrastructure. Meanwhile, ALGO tokens rose by about 2.6% in 24 hours. According to the page, DL Holdings purchased 2,995 Antminer S21 units from Bitmain for $41.1 million, with a total of 5,195 mining machines and a computing power of 2.1 EH/s. It plans to become the largest listed mining company in Hong Kong within two years, and promote mining tokenization and AI optimization.
