According to the Wall Street Journal, court documents show that YouTube has agreed to pay $24.50 million to settle a lawsuit filed by U.S. President Donald Trump against his company and CEO in 2021. The lawsuit stemmed from YouTube's blocking of Trump's account following the riots on Capitol Hill. The settlement makes Google's YouTube the last tech giant to reach a settlement with Trump. Trump has filed lawsuits against three social media platforms in the months since he left the White House. According to previous reports, Meta Platforms agreed in January to pay $25 million (most of the money will be injected into the Trump Presidential Library Fund), while the X platform agreed to pay $10 million (most of which will be paid directly to Trump). According to court documents, Trump will receive $22 million from the settlement, which will be donated to the nonprofit National Mall Trust for the construction of a ballroom modeled after Mar-a-Lago at the White House.
