OpenAI plans to release a new version of Sora Video Generator, which uses copyrighted content when generating videos, unless the copyright holder "opts out", meaning that it explicitly disagrees with its copyrighted content being used to generate videos, according to people familiar with the matter. OpenAI has started notifying agencies and studios about the new version of Sora and its opt-out process in the past week, and the new version will be available in the next few days, the sources said. The new opt-out process means that studios and other intellectual property owners must explicitly require OpenAI not to use their copyrighted work in Sora-generated videos, otherwise its copyrighted content will be used to generate AI videos.
