Wall Street's top regulator has pledged to speed up President Donald Trump's proposal to end the requirement for most companies to publish quarterly results, the latest move by the president to wade into a long-running debate over transparency in US capital markets. Paul Atkins, chairperson of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), said that under the plan, companies would have the option to publish quarterly results every six months, and many may still choose to publish quarterly results.
