The Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) will seek minimal regulation and speed up approval of Trump's proposal to scrap quarterly corporate reporting, according to the Financial Times. Trump has called on social media to'stop forcing companies to publish quarterly reports', while SEC Chairperson Paul Atkins, his appointee, said on Monday that he would consider replacing the current three-monthly requirement for public companies with semi-annual corporate reporting and that minimum effective regulation should be provided to protect investors. In addition, the proposed relaxation of public company rules confirms that the regulator will deregulate public companies to a greater extent.
