US President Donald Trump expressed optimism on Sunday about a truce in Gaza, saying there was "a real opportunity for a historic breakthrough in the Middle East" ahead of talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday. While Mr. Trump did not give details of the hostage-for-ceasefire deal, Vice-President Vance told Fox News Sunday that high-level US talks with Israeli and Arab leaders were "extremely complex". "The Middle East is facing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. For the first time, all parties have come together to agree on a common goal, and we will definitely reach an agreement." Mr. Trump posted on his social media platform Real Social in a motorcade to his golf club in Virginia. According to US government officials, Trump will meet with Netanyahu at the White House on Monday with the aim of finalizing the framework of the agreement.
