Cryptocurrency companies face risks similar to the bursting of the dotcom bubble in the early 2000s

Ray Youssef, founder of the NoOnes app, pointed out in an interview that even now that the Financial Institution Group has entered the cryptocurrency space, the "over-zealous investor mentality" that sparked overinvestment in early internet and technology companies during the dotcom bust has not disappeared. "The crypto position narrative has become a defining feature of the current market cycle," he said. "It is very similar to investor sentiment in the dotcom era of the late 1990s and early 2000s, when the dotcom bubble caused the stock market to plunge by about 80 per cent."
