CoinGecko released the "Bitcoin Dominance in the Cryptocurrency Portfolio" survey report. Nearly half of retail investors consider BTC to be the most important asset in their holdings. It is worth noting that 20.4% of participants build their portfolios almost exclusively around Bitcoin. The most popular allocation strategy is to hold Bitcoin and a small number of counterfeit products. 28.0% of market participants adopted this strategy, reflecting the underlying preference to denominate in Bitcoin while waiting to move to more risky counterfeit products.
At the same time, a quarter of market participants see Bitcoin as less important and place more importance on counterfeit products. 17.3% of users have the same amount of counterfeit products as BTC in their fund allocation, while 10.2% of users' funds are mainly concentrated in counterfeit products. Bitcoin has a small share - usually pursuing higher risk, higher reward strategies.
On the other hand, 15.9% of market participants considered Bitcoin completely unimportant, choosing to allocate only counterfeit products. These investors believe that BTC has limited upside compared to other cryptocurrencies, or avoid BTC altogether due to other factors.
