Google could be hit with a second fine in the coming months from the European Union's landmark tech regulations, with the European Union Commission currently drafting a decision, according to three people familiar with the matter. The European Union's competition enforcement agency earlier this month fined Google €2.95 billion for unfairly favouring its own display advertising technology services and strengthening the centrality of its ad exchange platform AdX to the detriment of rivals and online publishers. The second looming fine relates to allegations in March that Google prioritised its vertical search engines, such as Google Shopping, Google Flights and Google Hotels, over rival features.
