Australia has released draft legislation to regulate digital asset platforms, a framework designed to extend financial services law to cryptocurrency businesses to strengthen consumer protections and provide clarity to the industry. Assistant Treasurer Daniel Mulino announced the reforms at Australia's Global Digital Asset Regulation Summit on Wednesday. He described the bill as a "cornerstone" of the government's digital asset roadmap released in March and said it would bring Australia in line with its international counterparts.
