OpenAI is discussing the feasibility of leasing artificial intelligence chips with Nvidia in an effort to reduce cost pressures in their large-scale new data center collaboration. According to people familiar with the matter, OpenAI can save 10% to 15% by leasing server chips rather than purchasing them directly.
