Traders are cautiously awaiting initial jobless claims data on Thursday and PCE inflation data on Friday, while keeping a close eye on tricky developments that could trigger a US government shutdown. President Donald Trump has cancelled key talks with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Jeffries that were expected to avert a government shutdown ahead of the September 30 deadline. "The cancellation of the talks has raised a new round of concerns, with funding likely to run out by next week's deadline and we could see the first government shutdown since the winter of 2018-19," Deutsche Bank analyst Jim Reid said in a note to clients on Wednesday morning.
