Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has pledged to donate $2 million to two political groups as part of what it says is an ongoing fight to defend core cryptocurrency freedoms in the United States.
Kraken co-CEO Arjun Sethi announced in a post on the X platform that the exchange will donate $1 million to Freedom Fund PAC and increase its 2025 commitment to America First Digital to $1 million.
Sethi said that "the fight for cryptocurrencies in the United States is far from over," and warned that cryptocurrency-based rights such as self-custody and decentralized access remain under threat from "regulatory uncertainty," privacy tool bans, and efforts to criminalize infrastructure. He described the donations as "a strategic investment in the legal and regulatory framework that will define the future of cryptocurrencies," emphasizing that Kraken supports principles such as privacy, self-custody, and innovation, rather than political parties.
