Aptos Labs: Consensus Upgrade to Velociraptr Reduces Block Time by 40%

On September 24th, AptosLabs published that the latest consensus upgrade, Velociraptr (AIP131), introduces a new block proposal mechanism that can reduce block time by up to 40%. The current block time of Aptos is about 100 milliseconds. The initial deployment of Velociraptr in the Aptos validator network is expected to begin in September, and the full deployment is expected to be completed in October.
