On September 24, Coinbase announced that it will launch two local fiat stablecoins, AUDD (Australian dollar stablecoin, issued by AUDC Pty Ltd) and XSGD (Singapore dollar stablecoin, issued by StraitsX), globally on September 29.
Users can exchange AUD to AUDD and SGD to XSGD for free. Both currencies are backed by official currency reserves and XSGD is accredited by the Monetary Authority of Singapore for compliance.
Coinbase will list AUDD and XSGD stablecoins in the Australian and Singapore dollars.
