OpenAI and Oracle will announce the expansion of their data centers in Texas

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Oracle (ORCL. N) new co-CEO Clay Magouryk are expected to announce an expansion of their data center in Texas on Tuesday, according to people familiar with the matter. Oracle Cloud is operating data centers in the region, and the maker of ChatGPT is expected to spend hundreds of billions of dollars leasing servers from those facilities over the next decade. The event comes a day after Altman and Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang announced that the chip design firm will invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI over an unspecified period to help the startup develop its own data center.
