BlackRock's bitcoin and ethereum ETFs generated $260 million in annualised revenues, with bitcoin ETFs contributing $218 million and ethereum products contributing $42 million, according to Leon Waidmann, head of research at the non-profit Onchain Foundation, who shared data on Tuesday. Waidmann said the profitability of BlackRock's cryptocurrency-themed ETFs could prompt more investment giants in the traditional finance (TradFi) space to launch regulated cryptocurrency trading products. BlackRock's cryptocurrency ETFs have become the "benchmark" for institutions and traditional pension funds. Meanwhile, BlackRock's total assets under management (AUM) have approached $85 billion, according to Dune's blockchain data, accounting for 57.5% of the US spot bitcoin ETF market share, firmly at the top. By contrast, Fidelity's ETF holds just $22.80 billion in assets and ranks second in US spot bitcoin ETFs with a 15.4% market share.
