Caroline D. Pham, acting chairperson of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has announced the new members of the Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC) and its subgroups, and congratulated Avery Ching, co-founder and CEO of Aptos Labs, on her appointment to the Digital Asset Markets subcommittee.
GMAC is one of the CFTC's most important consulting objects. It is composed of experts in traditional finance and digital assets. It has long provided policy advice to the CFTC, not only shaping regulatory decisions in the United States, but also providing an important reference for international discussions on global market structure and digital asset regulation. Pham said that he looks forward to working with industry leaders such as Avery, Scott Lucas, head of digital asset markets at JPMorgan Chase, and Sandy Kaul, executive vice president of Franklin Templeton, to promote the orderly development of the digital asset market.
Avery has over a decade of experience building large-scale infrastructures. Before founding Aptos, he was responsible for blockchain development, wallet infrastructure, and technical construction of the Diem blockchain project at Meta. Avery's addition marks the growing influence of Web3 technology builders in the global regulatory conversation.
