Microsoft and OpenAI have announced a $2 million fund to counter the growing risk that artificial intelligence and deepfakes are being used to "deceive voters and undermine democracy." Microsoft and OpenAI's new "Social Resilience Fund" is dedicated to "furthering artificial intelligence education and literacy among voters and vulnerable communities," according to a blog post published today by Microsoft and OpenAI. This will involve awarding grants to a small number of organizations, including the Technology Services for the Elderly (OATS), the Coalition for Content Sourcing and Authenticity (C2PA), the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), and the Partnership for Artificial Intelligence (PAI).
