The Hong Kong Monetary Authority welcomed the announcement by Shenzhen and Hong Kong that the Shenzhen-Hong Kong cross-border data verification platform has been launched on a trial basis. The platform uses blockchain technology and data codes (i.e. hash values) for document verification, which does not involve cross-border transmission and storage of original data files, and realizes trusted verification of data carried by data users.
It is reported that the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, together with the Shenzhen Internet Information Office, the Shenzhen Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, the Shenzhen Local Monetary Authority, the Shenzhen Qianhai Administration, the Shenzhen Branch of the People's Bank of China, and the Shenzhen Supervision Bureau of the State Financial Supervision and Administration will jointly coordinate and promote the construction and testing of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong cross-border data verification platform. The first phase will take the lead in the field of cross-border finance, covering the verification scenarios of credit reports and corporate customer account opening documents.
