On September 21, a dozen Democrats in the U.S. Senate issued a statement urging their Republican colleagues to allow bipartisan co-drafting of cryptocurrency market structure legislation currently being advanced in Congress.
The statement was signed by a group of Democratic lawmakers involved in cryptocurrency affairs, including Kirsten Gillibrand (New York), Cory Booker (New Jersey), Ruben Gallego (Arizona), Mark Warner (Virginia), and others.
Previously, the group unveiled a seven-pillar framework for US crypto market regulation, laying the groundwork for negotiations. At the same time, the Republican Party is pushing for the Clarity Act, a bill it drafted to clarify the US digital asset market, to be considered in the Senate, which has passed the House of Representatives.
