Michael Saylor, executive chairperson of Strategy, said bitcoin is becoming increasingly attractive to institutional investors, but its appeal to retail investors may decline.
"You want less volatility so that big institutions can feel comfortable entering the space and scaling up," Thaler told Natalie Brunell in a Coin Stories podcast posted on YouTube on Friday.
"The difficulty is that if large institutions come in, if volatility goes down, then the market gets boring for a while, and because the market gets boring for a while, the adrenaline rush goes down," Thaler explains.
"It's as if they've just had a huge euphoria and now the adrenaline is wearing off and they're a little bit pessimistic," Mr. Thaler said, describing this as Bitcoin's "growth phase" and a natural part of it.
