According to Cointelegraph, former SEC Chairperson Gary Gensler admitted in an interview on Wednesday that he has no regrets about his approach to cryptocurrency enforcement during his tenure at the agency.
Calling himself "proud" of the right decisions he made in regulating digital assets during his time at the SEC, Mr. Gensler reiterated his view that cryptocurrencies are a "highly speculative and extremely risky asset". Referring to enforcement actions against cryptocurrency companies, Mr. Gensler said: "We have worked hard to ensure investor protection. However, we have also encountered many fraudsters during this time: look at Sam Bankman-Fried, he is not alone."
