On September 18, a major robbery occurred in a gold mining workshop in Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong in the early morning of September 17. About 10 robbers broke into the workshop and stole 65 kilograms of gold bars, gold bricks and gold powder, with a total value of about 58 million Hong Kong dollars (about RMB 53.02 million), and about 30,000 Hong Kong dollars in cash.
The incident took place at about 5 am on the same day, and the reporter and five friends were resting in the workshop. After the robbers succeeded, they took the six people outside the workshop, locked the door with iron chains and fled. The case has been handed over to the West Kowloon Crime Squad for follow-up investigation.
