According to Cointelegraph, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will partner with the Exponential Science Foundation, a blockchain and artificial intelligence advocacy nonprofit, to launch the Government Blockchain Academy next year.
The academy will provide professional education and implementation programs on blockchain, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies for government departments to help drive change. There will be a focus on leveraging blockchain technology to solve pressing development challenges, including creating trusted verifiable digital vouchers, improving financial services and digital payments, tracking and bookkeeping of public procurement processes, tamper-proof record-keeping to combat corruption, and using tokens and smart contracts for climate finance.
The academy plans to launch in select countries starting in 2026, and curriculum design work will begin this year.
