The Israeli Ministry of Defense has ordered the confiscation of 187 cryptocurrency wallets, accusing them of being used by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The confiscation order was announced by Israel's National Agency for Counter-Terrorism Financing and Defense Minister Israel Katz, citing the 2016 Anti-Terrorism Law.
Officials say the wallets, which have processed $1.50 billion worth of USDT transactions, currently hold about $1.50 million. Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic has integrated the confiscated addresses into its monitoring system, but notes that not all wallets are directly under IRGC control, and some may be part of a cryptocurrency infrastructure that serves multiple customers.
