A federal district court judge on Monday rejected a lawsuit brought by environmental groups challenging the Federal Aviation Administration's 2022 decision to allow Elon Musk's SpaceX to expand its rocket launch operations near a national wildlife refuge in southern Texas. The groups said noise, light pollution, construction and road traffic would also damage the environment in the area, which is home to endangered species of ocelots and jaguars, as well as nesting grounds for endangered Kempster turtles and threatened shorebirds. US District Judge Carl Nichols in Washington said the FAA had fulfilled its obligation to "take a careful look at the impact of light on nearby wildlife".
