Foreign Ministry Special Envoy for Asian Affairs Visits Thailand to Work on Cambodia-Thailand Border Conflict

On September 16, 2025, Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Thailand and met with Deputy Minister of Defense of Thailand Sanitsano, Thai Co-Chairperson of the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee Secretariat, and Director of the Border Affairs Bureau of the Thai Army Command Natapeng. Previously, Special Envoy Deng Xijun met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Aisley during the series of senior officials' meetings on East Asia cooperation in Malaysia. Deng Xijun said that Thailand and Cambodia are neighbors and important members of ASEAN that cannot be moved away. He hoped that the two sides will actively implement the consensus reached by the foreign ministers of China, Thailand and Cambodia, resolve disputes peacefully through dialogue, and restore peace and stability in the border areas as soon as possible. China supports ASEAN in playing an active role in this regard and is willing to continue to provide necessary assistance according to the wishes of both The Thai side highly appreciates China's objective and fair position and its constructive role in cooling down the situation.
