Starknet has announced that it has started a BTC staking integration upgrade, and the staking protocol will be suspended for several hours to complete this major update.
This upgrade will allow bitcoin holders to participate in the Starknet consensus. The specific parameters include: BTC staking weight is set to 0.25, that is, bitcoin accounts for 25% of the consensus weight, and the remaining 75% is borne by STRK; initial support for WBTC, LBTC, tBTC and SolvBTC, and other BTC derivatives can be added through governance; The staking release period is shortened from 21 days to 7 days, which is applicable to BTC and STRK staking holders. Previously, it was reported that the Starknet: BTC staking function will be launched on the mainnet on September 30.
