The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts has filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit seeking to recover about $584,700 in Tether (USDT) stablecoins belonging to an Iranian national who provided technology to the Iranian military.
According to the Justice Department, in January 2024, three US servicemen were killed at a military base in northern Jordan, and subsequent analysis revealed that an Iranian Shahed drone using SDRA's Sepehr navigation system was responsible for the attack. Abedini is charged with providing material support to a foreign terrorist group and causing death, as well as conspiring to procure sensitive US technology for military drones.
