Coinbase said that public companies buying cryptocurrencies are entering a "player vs player" phase, where companies will compete more fiercely for investor funds, which could drive up prices in the crypto market.
"The days of easy money and guaranteed NAV [multiple of net asset value] premiums are over," David Duong, head of research at Coinbase, and researcher Colin Basco, said in a report on Wednesday.
The two noted that digital asset treasuries (DATs) are in a "player-to-player" phase, where "strategically positioned players will stand out" and predicted that the crypto market would "benefit from these inflows, thereby boosting returns."
Analysts have also expressed concerns about the saturation of the market for crypto-buying companies, arguing that many may not survive in the long term. NYDIG said Friday that despite the rise in bitcoin, the value of many crypto treasury companies has declined.
