Microsoft (MSFT. O) and OpenAI said Thursday they have signed a non-binding agreement on new terms of their relationship that will allow OpenAI to move forward with its restructuring plan to make it a for-profit company. The companies did not provide further details on the new business arrangement, but said they were working to finalize the terms of a final agreement. OpenAI said its existing nonprofit parent company will control a nonprofit company by taking a $100 billion stake in the company and have a say in the company's decisions, according to a memo from Brett Taylor, current chairperson of OpenAI's nonprofit board.
