Microsoft (MSFT. O) and OpenAI said Thursday that they have signed a non-binding agreement on new terms of their relationship that will allow OpenAI to move forward with its restructuring plan to make it a for-profit company. The companies did not provide further details on the new commercial arrangement, but said they were working to finalize the terms of the final agreement. OpenAI said its existing nonprofit parent company will control a nonprofit company by taking a $100 billion stake in the company and have a say in the company's decisions, according to a memo from Brett Taylor, the current chairperson of OpenAI's nonprofit board.
