At a time when the US's indiscriminate tariffs have triggered widespread global opposition, all countries should strengthen communication and coordination to jointly safeguard free trade and multilateralism, and must not sacrifice the interests of third parties because of coercion by others. In this context, any unilateral tax increase by Mexico, even within the framework of WTO rules, will be regarded as appeasement and compromise against unilateral bullying. China and Mexico are important economic and trade partners. We do not want to see the economic and trade cooperation between the two sides affected.
