LIXTE Biotechnology Holdings (ticker: LIXT and LIXTW), a Nasdaq-listed company, announced on September 10 that it has made an initial purchase of 10.5 bitcoins and 300 ethereum worth approximately $2.60 million as part of its capital diversification strategy.
According to the announcement, cryptocurrencies currently account for 43.6% of LIXTE's capital holdings, and the company's board of directors has approved an increase in the allocation of cryptocurrencies to 50%. Geordan Pursglove, chairperson and CEO of LIXTE, said the move is aimed at building a balanced and flexible digital asset strategy that enhances the company's resilience and long-term growth potential in the digital economy.
Previously, it was reported that US-listed biotech company LIXTE plans to allocate up to 25% of its capital reserves to digital assets such as bitcoin.
