The three major U.S. stock indexes ended mixed gains and losses. The S & P 500 index rose 0.3%, the Dow Jones index fell 0.48%, the Nasdaq Composite index rose 0.03%, and the S & P 500 index and the Nasdaq index continued to set new closing highs. Oracle rose 36% to a record high, and its market value soared by about $250 billion in the day.
