Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison has become the world's richest man for the first time, ending Tesla CEO Elon Musk's nearly year-long reign at the top of the list. As of 10:10 a.m. New York time (10:10 p.m. Beijing time), Ellison's wealth soared by $101 billion. The increase came after Oracle reported better-than-expected quarterly results and said there was more growth to come. The increase brought his total wealth to $393 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, surpassing Musk's $385 billion. It was the biggest one-day gain the index has ever seen. Musk, who first became the world's richest man in 2021 and then lost to Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos and LVMH group chairperson Bernard Arnault, regained the top spot last year and held it for more than 300 days.
