Robinhood's crypto division received a Wells notice from the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) on May 4. According to the May 8 filing, commission staff led by SEC Chairperson Gary Gensler had been investigating Robinhood's "cryptocurrency listings, cryptocurrency custody, and platform operations" for some time before recommending enforcement action against it.
