SwissBorg CEO Cyrus Fazel denied hacking his wealth management firm to steal $41 million, instead attributing the attack to an external DeFi wallet held by its SOL staking partner Kiln.
Blockchain security expert Chaofan Shou has compared it to the ByBit hack of 2025, noting that a week-old release transaction gave hackers access to funds.
Kiln announced today that it has suspended some services on its staking platform, such as Kiln Dashboard, widgets and APIs, until the current security issue is fully resolved. "The Kiln team and a number of third parties are conducting a full investigation into this incident," Kiln said in a statement. "We will continue to share any important customer-related information as it becomes available."
Crypto wallet company Trust Wallet also said that its Earn feature is currently unavailable due to "ongoing issues with partner Kiln's API", stressing that users' funds held in Trust Wallet remain safe.
