2025-09-09 08:54:39
Charles Guillemet, the chief technology officer of hardware wallet developer Ledger, said in a post on the X platform that previous NPM attacks with alternative wallet addresses did not cause much impact due to early detection, and there were almost no victims. According to his previous disclosure, the NPM account of a well-known developer was hacked, resulting in the JavaScript ecosystem may be at risk. Malicious payloads can steal funds by replacing encrypted addresses. If using hardware wallets, please pay attention to each transaction before signing. It is not clear whether attackers can directly steal mnemonic words from software wallets.
