Outside political groups linked to the cryptocurrency industry have raised more than $102 million for the upcoming U.S. congressional elections to promote digital asset-friendly candidates. About $54 million of the cryptocurrency industry's political war chest comes from direct corporate spending, primarily from Coinbase (COIN. O), Opens New Tab, and Ripple Labs, the report said.
The rest came from cryptocurrency executives and venture capitalists: Andreessen Horowitz founder $11 million each, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, founders of cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, $5 million, and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong $1 million.
