Sonic Labs is rolling out token economics tweaks to support its expansion and institutional adoption plans in the United States. The details were released by Tokenomist on the X platform on September 7. He sorted out the new issuance and supply dynamics after the governance proposal passed by a near-unanimous vote on August 31.
According to Tokenomist, Sonic will issue 633.90 million new S tokens, worth about $196.50 million. The distribution scheme is divided into three categories:
150 million for Sonic's business operations in the United States;
322.60 million is reserved for a Nasdaq private equity vehicle, locked for at least three years;
161.30 million is earmarked for future ETF projects in cooperation with BitGo custody.
