Johnson, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, told CNN that after rumors of Epstein's crime first emerged, Trump became an FBI informant in the Epstein case.
"Trump didn't say what Epstein did was a hoax, it was a terrible, unspeakable sin," Mr. Johnson told reporters. "He thought so himself. When he first heard the rumor, he kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago. He was an FBI informant trying to expose the crime."
