Swedbank: Securities Exchange Commission terminates investigation, no enforcement action taken

Swedbank said the Securities Exchange Commission had terminated its investigation of the bank and had not taken any enforcement action. "With this announcement by the Securities Exchange Commission, we are bringing to a close another investigation into historical issues," Swedbank deputy chief executive Thomas Hedberg said in a statement. The investigation, which is understood to have been launched in 2019, concerns past disclosures at Swedbank. The statement also noted that investigations into the bank by the Department of Justice and the New York State Department of Financial Services are still ongoing.
