Financial services giant U.S. Bank said Wednesday that it will offer bitcoin custody services to institutional investment managers of registered or Private Offering Funds, including support for bitcoin-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Bank of America said in 2021 that it would offer custody services for bitcoin, litecoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum, and other counterfeit products, but then stopped the service in 2022 due to the publication of the Securities Exchange Commission's (SEC) Employee Accounting Bulletin 121 (SAB 121), which prevented banks from hosting digital assets.
