Aria Protocol Labs and Aria Foundation, the team behind story-based IP tokenization platform Aria, recently raised a combined $15 million in seed and strategy rounds, both of which closed last month and began talks in March. The seed round was co-led by Polychain Capital and Neoclassic Capital, and the strategy round was backed by Story Protocol Foundation and other unnamed investors in the cryptocurrency, IP and entertainment sectors.
These financings used a combination of equity and token warrants, valuing Aria's equity at $50 million. The project also plans to issue native tokens in the future.
Aria is built on Story, a Layer 1 blockchain designed for IP tokenization. At present, Aria is mainly focused on the tokenization of music IP, which converts music royalties into tradable tokens, with the aim of making this illiquid asset class more accessible to users.
