Citi survey: Custodians will become a core force in the tokenization of traditional financial assets

Citi Securities Services has released its latest white paper, based on a survey of 537 market participants. Respondents expect about 10% of trading volume to be tokenized by 2030, and custodians are seen as a key force driving tokenization. The survey states that 63% of institutions expect to use multiple blockchains simultaneously by 2030, and believe custodians can achieve cross-chain connectivity. However, this preference may change in the future. Citi's annual survey shows that market perceptions of the digital asset class are changing significantly. Last year, respondents believed that almost 60% of the fastest growing digital assets by 2030 were tokenized private equity/alternative assets and cryptocurrencies.
